Seven months ago...

Last Saturday marked seven months since I was holding a truly tiny baby girl and getting to know her for the first time.

It's been a pretty tough ride sometimes (especially for how short it has been!), but we've loved these last seven months with our little Lydee bug!

Happy seven month birthday to my sweet, joyful, happy, energetic, loving, affectionate baby girl!

(all of these pictures are cell phone shots, except the bath pictures at the end. feel compelled to explain the low quality of some of them. :) )

How could you not just absolutely adore this incredibly beautiful little soul?!

She celebrated her seven-month birthday by beginning to cut her very first tooth! Favorite thing to chew on right now: Mommy's purse. :)

My beautiful big girl. She was at the doctor here - we were waiting, of course, since that's what you do at doctor's offices - and she was being very patient, as usual. :)

We went to the doctor to figure out what the little red dots are that keep popping up on her face. She scratches them, hence the band-aids. The doctors have not been helpful, by the way.

Pediatrician said "I don't know - go to a dermatoligist." Dermatoligist glanced at her and said "It's eczema," and gave us THREE prescriptions for my two-year-old. :-/

I might be more inclined to believe the derm. if she had actually looked at Susannah AND if what she has looked anything like eczema, which it does not.

We go back in two weeks for a follow-up, so we will see.

My sister Melody bought the girls these matching dresses, and as soon as I got them home, of course, they had to be tried on and pictures had to be taken. :)

First bath together! Lydia started sitting up (without constantly falling over) right after she turned 6 months. I was excited because it meant bathtime can be so much easier now - two in one! :)

Both girls really seemed to enjoy bathtime together, too.

Lydia spent almost the entire time splashing the water with her hands, and getting it all over her face, which would make Susannah freak out... still.

And, yes, she's two years older. Lydia didn't seem bothered by it. :)

Love this shot of her eyes, her always-curious look. :)

TOO many pictures! But they're so cute!

I always do this to myself - I take WAY too many pictures! It may be my biggest downfall as a photographer. I must be better about this.

It's a problem because it takes me so long to get through all of them, pick my favorites, edit and post them.

The upside is I get tons of cute pictures! :)

Here's some of the craziness that is attempting to take organized pictures of two two-year-olds and two 6-8 month olds. It was fun. :)

In case you're wondering what's making Susannah giggle uncontrollably, it's Ellie making a spitting noise.... of course. :)

 Such sweet friends.

"Ellie! Look up!"

Yay! All four looking at once! It truly felt like a miracle.

And then chaos reigned. I love watching the fast and hilarious way this set up degenerates.

Hope reaches for Lydia. Ellie sees a squirrel (?), Susannah is amused by something on... the ground?

I love these shots of my girls. It really captures their personalities well.

 HOPE! and more HOPE! :)

These next four shots was supposed to be try #18 on the group shot, but it really just turned into another opportunity for Hope to affectionately try to rip off Lydia's ear, and for Ellie and Susannah to have another giggle fest about the hilariousness of... something!

Aaaaannnd that's a wrap! Not a lick of patience left in these babies. :)

I don't know why Susannah is so obssessed with putting her finger in Lydia's mouth, but Lydia doesn't ever object.

Such a sweet big sister!

 HOPE! Smiling and standing!

My beautiful, curious, joyful little Lydee bug!

Yep, she had a leaf in her mouth. But goodness, no one else could ever look so cute while eating a leaf! :)

Sweet times with little friends

Susannah and her friend Ellie having a great, silly, 2-year-old time at the park this week.

Ellie will be moving to the other side of the world soon and we will be SO sad to see her go - the girls have really become good friends.

And just as Susannah will miss her friend Ellie, we will also miss her mommy and daddy, our dear friends.

We are happy that they are following God's call, though, and we know that will be a blessing and adventure, too. :)

More sweet pictures of the girls at the park coming soon!

Word confusion

David (getting ready for bed): Alright, I'm gonna crash.

Susannah (very concerned): No! I don't want you to crash!

I put Lydia's pretty dress on her for church Sunday, and Susannah immediately exclaimed:

"OH, wow, Lydia! You look SO toot!"

Susannah, spinning in circles and laughing hysterically: Whooaaa! I'm soooo BUSY!

Me (with curling iron): Susannah, you want me to curl your hair and make it all pretty?

S: No, I don't want you make my hair twirly!

happy
